Shri K.R. Chaudhary, DRM Kharagpur today inspected the passenger amenities and other aspects of safe travel in the Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Express. Shri Chaudhary took
part in the Shramdaan cleanliness drive along with Hon’ble MP/Medinipur, Shri Dilip Ghosh at the circulating area of
Kharagpur railway station and then boarded the Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Express enroute Howrah along with divisional officers.
DRM Kharagpur inspected various aspects such as Cleaning, Catering services etc. He also interacted with the onboard
passengers and received suggestions from them. DRM Kharagpur also gave necessary instructions to the on duty staff
and officers.

Observance of 1 hour Shramdaan – Cleanliness
drive on 1st October as part of Swachhata Hi Seva
Kharagpur division along with all railway units are observing Swachhta Hi Seva/ Swachhta Pakhwada from 16.09.2023 to 02.10.2023 with a view to bring tangible improvement in the level of cleanliness at various railway establishments.
Kharagpur Division joins in the Government of India’s call for citizens to engage in “Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta” an initiative to promote community service and cleanliness. The division has organised “Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta” campaign on 1st October 2023 at 10 AM at all stations. Under this campaign, Shramdaan is being done by the Railway staff along with the locals, NGOs, Public representatives at all railway
stations of this division.
Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs & Jal Shakti, Shri Bishweswar Tudu joined at Baripada railway station to be a part of this
Swachhata Hi Seva drive.
At Kharagpur, Hon’ble MP/Medinipur, Shri Dilip Ghosh joined DRM Kharagpur along with divisional officers and railway staff in the
cleanliness drive at the circulating area of Kharagpur station. Hon’ble MP/Tamluk, Shri Dibyendu Adhikari joined at Kanthi station
and participated in the Shramdaan drive.
Various officers were nominated at different locations of this division to participate and monitor the Shramdaan drive to observe the
Swachhta hi seva campaign.

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the “FIT INDIA SWACHHATA FREEDOM RUN 4.0- 2023”, was organised by SERSA/KGP on 02.10.2023 at 8 AM starting from SERSA Stadium. 

The FIT INDIA SWACHHATA FREEDOM RUN 4.0- 2023 started from the SERSA Stadium at 8:00 AM after a shradhanjali sabha at the SERSA Ground. After paying floral tributes to the “Father of the Nation” on his birth anniversary, DRM Kharagpur, Shri K.R. Chaudhary flagged off the Fit India Run from SERSA Ground along with all divisional officers. The swachhata freedom run covered a distance of around 4 km, going through various railway colonies and establishments in and around the town and terminated at the SERSA ground.

On this occasion, a cricket match was also organised by SERSA/KGP for the visually impaired players. The West Bengal State Visually Impaired Cricket team took the field against the Railway team. DRM Kharagpur met and greeted all the players from both the sides before officially starting the play with the coin toss.
