REGULATION OF TRAINS DUE TO DEVELOPMENTAL WORKS
IN HOWRAH DIVISION OF EASTERN RAILWAY

In view of developmental works in Howrah Division of Eastern Railway, the following trains will be regulated as under:

LONG AWAITED NIGHT SERVICE TOWARDS DIGHA
To clear the extra rush of passengers, SER has decided to run one more pair of Independence Day Special between Santragachi-Digha-Santragachi. This is the long awaited Night Service towards Digha.
08009 Santragachi-Digha Independence Day Special train will leave Santragachi on 14.08.2023 at 23:45 hrs and will reach Digha at 03:30 hrs, the next day.
In the return direction, 08010 Digha-Santragachi Independence Day Special will leave Digha at 08:00 hrs on 15.08.2023 and will reach Santragachi at 12:10 hrs, the same day.
The special train will have four AC-3 Tier and twelve Sleeper Class Coaches and will have stoppages at Uluberia, Bagnan, Mecheda, Tamluk, Deshpran and Kanthi.

SER OBSERVES “PARTITION HORRORS REMEMBRANCE DAY” on 14th AUGUST
Kolkata, 14th August, 2023:
SER is organising the event, “Har Ghar Tiranga” as a part of Independence Day Celebrations to encourage the citizens to hoist the National Flag at their residential premises from 13th to 15thAugust, 2023. The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to celebrate India’s Independence Day with zeal and enthusiasm.
On the eve of Independence, the Station Buildings, Offices, Locomotives, etc. have been illuminated in Tri-coloured lights over the South Eastern Railway jurisdiction. The special lighting arrangement is organised to celebrate the patriotic fervour of the Nation.
Employees of South Eastern Railway are also taking part in the Nationwide “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign. The campaign aims to honour the freedom fighters and bravehearts who sacrificed their lives for the country.
SER has also observed “Partition Horrors Remembrance Day” on 14th August, 2023 to highlight the tragedy of the partition and the agony of the people who suffered during the partition. In this connection, Photo Exhibitions have been organised at different stations of South Eastern Railway. The Photo Exhibitions were organised at Adra, Bokaro Steel City, Bankura and Purulia stations of Adra Division, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakradharpur, Sini, Chaibasa, Rajgangpur, Dangoaposi and Tatanagar stations of Chakradharpur Division, Hatia, Ranchi, Muri, Ramgarh Cant., Lohardaga, Bano, Pokla and Govindpur Road stations of Ranchi Division, Kharagpur, Balasore, Jaleswar, Mecheda, Midnapur, Panskura and Jhargram stations of Kharagpur Division.
Different programmes have also been organised at the stations on this day. Patriotic songs were played during the exhibitions and Selfie Points have been put up at different stations for the public and passengers to celebrate the events.
