SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY CELEBRATES 68th RAILWAY WEEK

Kolkata, 9th February, 2024:

 

South Eastern Railway celebrated the 68th Railway Week-Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar, 2023 at Kolkata today (09.02.2024).

 

Shri Anil Kumar Mishra, General Manager, South Eastern Railway graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Shri A K Dubey, Addl. General Manager, Shri Abhay Kumar Gupta, Senior Deputy General Manager along with all Principal Head of the Departments attended the function. Divisional Railway Managers of Kharagpur, Adra, Chakradharpur & Ranchi were also present o­n the occasion.

Altogether, 89 selected railway officers & staff were felicitated in recognition of their outstanding services and devotion to duty during the year 2022-23. The Overall Efficiency Shield was awarded to Chakradharpur Division for the best all round performance. Efficiency Shields in other categories were also awarded to different divisions, workshops and stations. Ranchi station has been adjudged as the Best Kept Station.

Shri Anil Kumar Mishra, General Manager while addressing the gathering mentioned about S E Railway’s achievements in freight and passenger sectors. He complimented the railway employees for their sincere efforts and commendable performance in spite of different challenges. General Manager laid maximum emphasis on ensuring safety in train operations. He advised the railway employees to make all out efforts to attain the satisfaction of passengers and freight customers. He also appreciated the cooperation extended by the different Associations and Trade Unions.

During the programme, a colourful cultural show was presented by the Headquarters Cultural Team.

SPECIAL TRAIN BETWEEN RAJBARI (BANGLADESH) AND MIDNAPORE

 

 

 

Kolkata, 8th February, 2024:

 

 

 

It has been decided to run one pair of Special Train between Rajbari (Bangladesh)-Midnapore-Rajbari (Bangladesh) for Pilgrims to attend the Holy URS Sharif at Midnapore on 17.02.2024.

 

 

 

Rajbari (Bangladesh)-Midnapore Special will leave Rajbari on 14.02.2024 at 22.00 hrs and will arrive Midnapore at 05.00 hrs on 16.02.2024. In the return direction, Midnapore-Rajbari Special will leave Midnapore on 18.02.2024 at 22.00 hrs and will reach Rajbari at 15.00 hrs on 19.02.2024.

 

 

 

The special train will stop at Gede, Ranaghat, Dumdum, Andul and Kharagpur stations enroute.

SER REGISTERS GROWTH

IN FREIGHT LOADING AND EARNINGS

 

Kolkata, 7th February, 2024:

 

South Eastern Railway has loaded total 173.07 Million Tonnes of originating freight in the first ten months (April-January) of the current financial year (2023-24) registering a growth of 3.54% in comparison to the corresponding period of previous financial year. During this period, the revenue generation from originating freight loading has also increased to Rs 15656.42 crore as against Rs. 14948.86 crore in same period of the previous year. Therefore, the earnings from freight loading has enhanced by 4.73% for SER.

 

SER has also registered growth in earnings from loading of Coal, Iron ore and Fertilizer in the first ten months i.e. April to January of the current financial year (2023-24). During this period, SER has loaded 43.51 Million Tonnes of Coal and earned Rs 4784.48 crore from Coal loading which is 7.03% more than the corresponding period of previous fiscal.

 

The main commodities of Freight loading during this period were Iron Ore, Coal, Pig Iron & Finished Steel, Cement, Fertilizers, Petroleum Products etc.

 

ROURKELA LOCO SHED OF SER

BAGS THE BEST PERFORMING SHED AWARD

Kolkata, 6th February, 2024:

                   Rourkela Loco Shed has bagged the Best Performing Shed Award among all zonal Railways in the category of “Homing Three Phase Locos”. The Shed has been adjudged as the winner for best maintenance practices and to achieve less number of failures in terms of FRPCPY (Failure Rate Percentage per Year). Rourkela Loco Shed has also secured 2nd position in the category of “Least Number (in percentage) of Major Overdue Locomotives”.

                   Apart from this, Kharagpur Loco Shed has secured 2nd position in the category of “Unscheduled Lifting of Locos on Ownwership Basis”.

                   The Ministry of Railways has sanctioned Cash Awards for Rourkela Loco Shed and Kharagpur Loco Shed in recognition of their excellent performance.
