53rd Annual Sports Meet at PM SHRI KV No 1 IIT Kharagpur
In a grand celebration of athleticism and sportsmanship, PM SHRI KV No 1 IIT Kharagpur hosted its 53rd Annual Sports Meet with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Chief Guest Prof. A.K. Singh, President of Technology Gymkhana, and Guest of Honour Mr. Bimal Mahata, a renowned marathon runner.
The ceremony was further adorned by the presence of Principal Rikisha Bhaumik, Vice Principal, and the Headmaster. The proceedings began with the school vice captain, Ayush Das, taking the oath, setting the tone for a spirited competition. The torch was ignited by KVS National level players and previous winners, symbolizing the spirit of sportsmanship and healthy competition. Adding a cultural flair to the celebration, the group dance performances were a highlight, featuring the vibrant theme of Rajasthan.
The Guest of Honour officially declared the sports meet open, marking the commencement of a series of exhilarating events.
The track witnessed the fervor of young athletes as boys and girls from VI to VIII participated in the thrilling 400 meters Relay race. Notably, teachers and guardians, both male and female, showcased their athleticism in the 80 m race, adding a unique and inclusive dimension to the event.
Ganga house emerged triumphant in the Boys relay race, showcasing exceptional talent and teamwork. The cheers and applause reverberated through the venue as participants displayed their dedication and skill.
The culmination of the event saw the distribution of prizes among Balvatika students and all other winners. The Guest of Honour officially declared the sports meet closed, symbolizing the end of a memorable day for the students.
As the flag was handed over, the national anthem echoed, encapsulating the unity and pride associated with sportsmanship.
