हावड़ा – घाटशिला के लिए टु एंड फ्रो MEMU EXPRESS बीते 28 अक्टुबर से शुरु हुई है . यह हावड़ा से 10.5 बजे रवाना हुआ करेगी त्वरित गति पकड़ना एवं तेजी से थमना इसकी विशेष खाशियत है इसके अलावा भी यात्री सुलभ अनेको सुविदाएं दी गई है . गाडी की कोच स्टेनलेशस स्टील की है और चालन के झटकों का कोई प्रभाव नही पडेगा यानी
इसकी मजबूती और प्रतिरोध वहन क्षमता काफी ज्यादा है साथ ही इसकी इंजिन , त्वरण ,ब्रेक सिस्टम और एसी सब कुछ उन्नत स्तर का है.आरामदायक शीट , बायो टॉयलेट, एलइडी लाईट के साथ-साथ चेन पूलिंग की हालत में पता होने के लिए एक इंडिकेशन बोर्ड दिया गया है .
Kharagpur Division of South Eastern Railway have rolled out a three-phased MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) rake 218597-218598 with M/s BHEL propulsion system and put into passenger service as Howrah-Ghatshila-Howrah MEMU Express from HWH at 10.5 hrs on 28.10.2022. This is the first time BHEL 3-phase MEMU is introduced in Indian Railways.
The eight-coach rake has higher acceleration and deceleration and a host of passenger friendly features. Manufactured by the BHEL, the coaches are fabricated with stainless steel body and have a higher hauling capacity. The 3 phase rake propels with the 3 phase AC propulsion system consisting of insulated gate bipolar transistor and facilitates improved acceleration and braking.
Ergonomically designed seats, with air bellows for secondary suspension for comfort riding, bio-toilets, LED lights, LED indication when a chain is pulled, and a GPS based passenger information system are provided in all the coaches. The energy efficient electric traction propulsion system supported by regenerative braking can save up to 35% energy compared to conventional MEMUs. The energy efficient units requires less maintenance.
A touch screen driver display unit is provided to give information to support motorman in operating the rake while normal operation is also possible. Intercom and PA system are also provided in the new rake.
