विश्व पर्यटन दिवस: भारत में पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने में अहम भूमिका निभा रही भारतीय रेल

 

नई दिल्ली। 27 सितंबर को विश्व पर्यटन दिवस है। इस दिन पूरी दुनिया में पर्यटन के महत्व पर चर्चा की जाती है और प्रसिद्ध पर्यटक स्थलों के बारे में लोगों को जानकारी उपलब्ध कराई जाती है। भारत में पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने में भारतीय रेल की बहुत अहम भूमिका है। गौरतलब है कि पर्यटक सुविधाजनक, आरामदायक, किफायती और सुरक्षित परिवहन विकल्प चाहते हैं और ट्रेन से यात्रा करना उनकी इन आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करता है।

 

भारतीय रेल द्वारा देशवासियों को भारत की समृद्ध ऐतिहासिक, सांस्कृति और धार्मिक विरासत तक पहुंचना सुगम बनाया जाता है। इतना ही नहीं रेलवे द्वारा देश में कई हेरिटेज ट्रेनें भी संचालित की जाती हैं। इसके अलावा, यूनेस्को द्वारा मान्यता प्राप्त ट्रेनों और रेलवे स्टेशनों से लेकर इन ट्रेनों के माध्यम से दर्शनीय स्थलों तक यात्रा की सुविधा उपलब्ध कराई जाती है।

भारतीय रेल के कई रेल मार्गों को यूनेस्को द्वारा मान्यता प्रदान की गई है। इन रेल मार्गों पर यात्रा करना पर्यटकों के लिए यादगार अनुभव होता है और उन्हें प्राकृतिक सुंदरता व देश की सांस्कृतिक समृद्धि के दर्शन कराता है। यूनेस्को द्वारा मान्यता प्राप्त इन हेरिटेज स्थलों की सूची में भारतीय रेल के दार्जिलिंग हिमालयन रेलवे (DHR) और नीलगिरि माउंटेन रेलवे (NMR) शामिल हैं। दार्जिलिंग हिमालयन रेलवे को यूनेस्को द्वारा 1999 में मान्यता दी गई थी, जबकि नीलगिरि माउंटेन रेलवे को 2005 में मान्यता दी गई थी। नीलगिरि माउंटेन रेलवे द्वारा चलाई जानी वाली टॉय ट्रेन धीरे-धीरे पहाड़ियों पर चढ़ती है और सुरंगों, मनमोहक जंगलों से होकर गुजरती है। इससे आप आसपास की खूबसूरती का लुत्फ उठा सकते हैं। इस यात्रा में आप हरे-भरे परिदृश्यों और कुन्नूर जैसे आकर्षक हिल स्टेशनों के माध्यम से एक सुरम्य यात्रा का आनंद ले सकते हैं।

 

यूनेस्को की विश्व धरोहर सूचि में कालका-शिमला रेलवे (KSR) भी शामिल है। इसे वर्ष 2008 में यूनेस्को की वर्ल्ड हेरिटज सूची में शामिल किया गया था। इस मार्ग पर चलने वाली ट्रेनों के जरिए आप हिमाचल की खूबसूरत वादियों और पहाड़ियों का लुत्फ उठा सकते हैं। यहां चलने वाली ट्रेनें खड़ी चढ़ाई को पार करती हैं और रास्ते में लगभग 800 छोटे-बड़े पुलों से होकर गुजरती हैं।

 

इसके अलावा, देश के अन्य पहाड़ी क्षेत्रों में संचालित होने वाली तमाम दूसरी ट्रेनें भी हैं, जो पर्यटकों को खासा आकर्षित करती हैं। पातालपानी-कालाकुंड हेरिटेज ट्रेन, माथेरान लाइट रेलवे और कांगड़ा वैली हेरिटेज ट्रेन इनमें शामिल हैं। ट्रेन में यात्रा करते समय, कोई भी पर्यटक गोवा और महाराष्ट्र के रास्ते में पड़ने वाले दूधसागर जलप्रपात, थाल घाट, भोर घाट और पाल घाट के सुंदर दृश्यों को देखना नहीं भूलता है।

 

इसी प्रकार से मुंबई में स्थित भारतीय रेल के छत्रपति शिवाजी महाराज टर्मिनस की इमारत को वर्ष 2004 में यूनेस्कों की विश्व धरोहर सूची में शामिल किया गया था। 19वीं सदी में बनी यह इमारत प्राचीन वास्तुकला का एक उत्कृष्ट उदाहरण प्रस्तुत करती है। मुंबई घूमने जाएं, तो आप इस खूबसूरत बिल्डिंग को अपनी सूची में शामिल जरूर करें।

नई दिल्ली। दुर्गा पूजा, दिवाली और छठ पूजा के दौरान यात्रियों की सुगम आवाजाही के लिए भारतीय रेल द्वारा इस वर्ष 6000 से अधिक स्पेशल ट्रेनों का संचालन किया जाएगा। इन स्पेशल ट्रेनों का संचालन 1 अक्टूबर से 30 नवंबर के बीच किया जाएगा। रेलवे अधिकारी के मुताबिक़ हर साल त्योहारों के अवसर पर रेलवे द्वारा स्पेशल ट्रेनों का संचालन किया जाता है। इस वर्ष इन स्पेशल ट्रेनों की संख्या में भारी बढ़ोतरी की गई है।

 

गौरतलब है कि दुर्गा पूजा, दिवाली और छठ पर्वों के दौरान लाखों की संख्या में यात्री सफर करते हैं। यात्रियों की भारी भीड़ को सुगम एवं आरामदायक यात्रा प्रदान करने के लिए रेलवे द्वारा इस वर्ष भी विशेष ट्रेनों का संचालन करने की तैयारी की गई है। दो महीने की अवधि के दौरान ये स्पेशल ट्रेनें 6000 से अधिक फेरे लगाएंगी और बड़ी तादाद में यात्रियों को उनके गंतव्य तक पहुंचाने का काम करेंगी।

पिछले वर्ष भी भारतीय रेल द्वारा बड़ी संख्या में त्योहार स्पेशल ट्रेनों का संचालन किया गया था और इन ट्रेनों ने कुल 4,429 फेरे लगाए थे, जिनके माध्यम से लाखों की संख्या में यात्रियों को आरामदायक यात्रा की सुविधा प्राप्त हुई थी।

जाहिर है कि हर साल दुर्गा पूजा, दीपावली और छठ पूजा के अवसर पर देश भर से बड़ी संख्या में लोग उत्तर प्रदेश और बिहार की.

 

“Garvi Gujarat” Giving a New Dimension to Rail Tourism

 

-Indian Railways to launch “Garvi Gujarat” Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train from Delhi from Delhi on October 1

– Garvi Gujarat Deluxe AC Tourist Train with AC I, AC II and AC III classes will accommodate a total of 150 tourists.

– On October 2, tourists will visit Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

– For the first time, Vadnagar has been included in the route of the Garvi Gujarat Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train. The main attractions in Vadnagar will be Kirti Toran, Hatkeshwar Temple and the railway station.

– Over 180 Bharat Gaurav Tourist Trains have been operated across 24 states in India.

New Delhi: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC), under Indian Railways, continues its mission to showcase India’s rich historical, cultural and spiritual heritage through the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Trains. Adding to its legacy, IRCTC is set to launch the “Garvi Gujarat” Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train on October 1, 2024, from Delhi. This special journey will take travelers through Gujarat’s most prominent spiritual and heritage destinations, including the ancient town of Vadnagar and the scenic island of Diu.

 

Designed for comfort and convenience, the “Garvi Gujarat” Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train offers a range of modern amenities. Passengers can enjoy two dining restaurants, a state-of-the-art kitchen, shower cubicles, sensor-operated washrooms and foot massagers. With fully air-conditioned coaches in First AC, Second AC and Third AC, the train ensures a safe journey with CCTV cameras and onboard security. The train accommodates 150 passengers, with boarding and deboarding options at Delhi Safdarjung, Gurgaon, Rewari, Ringas, Phulera and Ajmer railway stations.

Spanning 10 days, this spiritual adventure will take tourists to iconic temples such as Somnath, Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, Dwarkadhish Temple and the Mahakali Temple at Pavagadh. Additionally, travelers will explore historical landmarks like Kirti Toran (Vadnagar), Modhera Sun Temple, Rani ki Vav and Diu Fort.

The journey begins in Delhi, with the first stop at Ahmedabad on October 2, allowing tourists to visit Sabarmati Ashram in honor of Gandhi Jayanti and Akshardham Temple. From there, the train proceeds to the stunning Modhera Sun Temple, Rani ki Vav and Sahasraling Talav in Modhera-Patan. The next destination, Vadnagar, offers a chance to visit Hatkeshwar Temple, Kirti Toran, Sharmistha Lake and the famous Vadnagar Railway Station.

Continuing the voyage, the train will stop in Vadodara, where tourists can visit the Mahakali Temple at Pavagadh Hills and the UNESCO World Heritage site, Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park. The adventure doesn’t end there—next is Kevadia, home to the world’s tallest statue, the iconic Statue of Unity. After Kevadia, the journey heads to Somnath, where passengers will visit the revered Somnath Temple and the tranquil Somnath Beach.

Diu, the next destination, promises stunning views as tourists explore Diu Fort, INS Khukri and its serene beaches. The final stop is Dwarka, where travelers will visit Dwarkadhish Temple, Nageshwar Jyotirlinga and Beyt Dwarka before returning to Delhi, covering approximately 3500 kilometers of awe-inspiring sights.

Since its inception, the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train initiative has been instrumental in promoting tourism across India. Over the past three years, more than 180 Bharat Gaurav trains have traversed 24 states, welcoming over 80000 passengers. Some of the notable routes and circuit includes:

DIGHA

 

 

 

Digha is West Bengal’s most popular sea resort. Originally known as Beerkul, it is mentioned as the “Brighton of the East” in one of Warren Hasting’s letters (1780 AD) to his wife. In 1923, an English tourist John Frank Smith was charmed by the beauty of Digha and started living here. His writings about Digha slowly gave exposure to this place. After independence, he convinced West Bengal’s chief minister Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy to develop Digha as a beach resort.

A small town, Digha is crowded with hotels generally around one main road. Its proximity to Calcutta (187 km) attracts tourists throughout the year. Digha is a hard beach where one can drive during low tide. The beach is however facing the problem of sea-erosion.

Bathing is advisable only during the low tide. One can view both sunrise and sunset at Digha sea beach. Digha is one of the most popular tourist sports in West Bengal.

The sea at Digha is calm and shallow for about a mile from the beach making it quite safe for swimming.

The seven km long flat, hard beach, dotted with casuarina plantations, is close to the border with Orissa and a 4 ‘A hour run by train from Kolkata. Here the river Hooghly becomes indistinguishable from the Bay of Bengal.

 

BISHNUPUR

Location: 201 km from Kolkata.

Main Attraction: Bishnupur is a town and a municipality in Bankura District in the state of West Bengal. It is famous for its terracotta temples and the Balucheri sarees. It is famous for its renowned architecture. Tourists visit these places and relish the fine art of ancient times. It represents nearly all varieties of structural forms of medieval ‘Bengali Temple’ architecture and has beautiful carvings on their walls offering a glitter of the terra-cotta art of Bengal. The temples like “SHYAM RAI TEMPLE” built in the massive ‘PANCHARATNA’ style is regarded as the most outstanding architecture.

 

Bishnupur is also famous for silk weaving and its centres developed by “khadiudyog”. “BaluchariSarees” are famous world over in which weavers are projecting themes of the Mahabharata and the Ramayana on ‘Pallu’ as well as ‘borders

 

 

BALASORE

 

Simlipal Reserve Forest : Covering a vast area of 2750 sq.km out of which 303 sq.km form the core area, this biosphere reserve is a sanctuary and one of the Tiger Projects and National Parks of India. With wide range of rainfalls and moist green forests, it is suitable to different species of flora and fauna. About 1076 species of plants, 87 varieties of orchids, 42 species of mammals, 29 types of reptiles and 231 species of birds are the inhabitants of this forest.

Several rivers originate from the hills and meander through the forest. Pithabata is an entry point which is situated 22 Km from Baripada in Orissa

MUKUTMANIPUR

 

Location: 55 kilometers from Bankura Railway Station.

Main Attraction: Mukutmanipur literally is a pearl in the crown of the entire Bankura District, especially south Bankura. This very place has rose to prominence due to its serene beauty. One of the biggest earthen dams in Asia, it stretches approximately up to 11 km. It is famous for confluence of Cossey and Kumari rivers. It is full of natural surroundings and has the largest dam of Bankura District. There is vast natural forest near dam.

 

 

The place is replete with attractive picnic spots. The place has been aptly described as nestling on the wooded dam-sites of the two rivers Kangsabati andKumari. A couple of spots as Musafirana, Pareshnath hillock are worth mentioning. The newly developed Musafirana is a fantastic viewpoint of the entire dam which is the ambit of tourist attraction.
