DIVERSION OF TRAINS DUE TO DEVELOPMENTAL WORKS
IN HOWRAH DIVISION OF EASTERN RAILWAY
In view of developmental works in Howrah Division of Eastern Railway, the following trains will be diverted as under:

CONTINUOUS GROWTH IN FREIGHT LOADING AND EARNINGS OF SER
Kolkata, 6th December, 2023:
South Eastern Railway has loaded total 136.26 Million Tonnes of originating freight in the first eight months (April-November) of the current financial year (2023-24) registering a growth of 3.09% in comparison to the corresponding period of previous financial year. During this period, the revenue generation from originating freight loading has also increased to Rs 12266.53 crore as against Rs. 11723.63 crore in same period of the previous year. Therefore, the earnings performance of SER has enhanced by 4.63%.
SER has also registered a growth in Iron ore loading in the first eight months i.e. April to November of the current financial year (2023-24). During this period, SER has loaded 69.64 Million Tonnes of iron ore, which is 5.28% more than the corresponding period of previous fiscal.
The main commodities of Freight loading during this period were Iron Ore, Coal, Pig Iron & Finished Steel, Food grains, Cement, Petroleum Products etc.

A surprise ticket checking drive was conducted by Kharagpur Division on 6th December 2023, to curb the without tickets and irregular ticket-traveling activities. Teams of 11 ticket-checking staffs from the commercial department, along with commercial inspector Rajendra Kumar, CTI/KGP A.A.Khan, Aniruddha Roy and 03 RPF staffs have carried out this drive.
On 6th December 2023, this thorough ticket checking drive was carried out at Kharagpur station. A total of 130 cases were detected during the drive in the magistrate check in Kharagpur station and Rs. 52595/- was collected as a penalty.
The intensive ticket-checking drive against without-ticket and unauthorized travellers will continue to ensure a hassle-free journey experience for bonafide passengers. The objective of these intensive checking drives are to increase the window sale figures and encourage the passengers to travel with proper travelling authorities.
MAHAPARINIRWAN DIWAS OF DR. B. R. AMBEDKAR OBSERVED BY SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY
Kolkata, 6th December, 2023:
Mahaparinirwan Diwas of Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar was observed at South Eastern Railway Headquarters, Garden Reach on 06.12.2023.
Shri A.K Dubey, Additional General Manager, South Eastern Railway paid floral tribute to the great patriot, Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.
The Principal Head of the Departments along with officials of SC/ST Association garlanded the portrait of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the Father of the Indian Constitution. Senior railway officers & staff of S.E.Railway Headquarters also paid tribute to the illustrious son of India, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.
Mahaparinirwan Diwas of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar was also observed at four Divisional offices of Adra, Kharagpur, Chakradharpur and Ranchi.
